Active or passive filters
Optimized power quality with filter solutions from PQ Professionals
Resonances, harmonic oscillations, reactive power - we will find the best filter solution for you
Active and Passive filters "clean" your power supply network from interfering network perturbations such as network resonances, harmonic oscillations, inductive and capacitive reactive power, flickering and grid imbalances.
Together we decide on the most suitable and economical filter solution on a case-by-case basis.
Examples of filter solutions
- Passive filters are extremely powerful in compensating for individual harmonic oscillations / waves.
- High-pass filters serve to shift / dampen parallel resonances, especially in high voltage applications.
- Active filters with different specializations are very flexible. They usually discretely operate current-controlled units with dynamic compensation of several harmonics simultaneously (keyword: active filter, active harmonic filters or just harmonic filter). These filters can usually compensate for very dynamic reactive power to reduce flickering or fast voltage fluctuations. (Keyword: flicker compensation)
- Voltage-controlled active filters reduce both harmonics and interharmonics of voltage (in a special version, also current). They only measure the voltage and can actively dampen resonances.
- Active and passive solutions are used for stabilizing voltage (AVC, STATCOM and classic tap changer concepts and CVT).
- There are also passive filters for decoupling interfering equipment from the mains. These solutions range from being very small to applications with multiple kVA. (Keyword: EMC filter, line filter and the classic line choke).
